Pidgits

lPidgits are enemies in the Mario Series that ride on magic carpets and will swoop down to damage you. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 (Doki Doki Panicin Japan.) where they were a common enemy. They look like birds, though they seem to never fly with their wings, but only on their carpet. lOne advantage of encountering a Pidget is the opportunity to steal their flying carpet. Unfortunately the carpet seems to be magically bound to the Pidget and will disintegrate after a few seconds of use. lThey later appeared in other games such as a cameo appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and an enemy appearance in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on the Yoshi Island world.

Pokey

A Pokey is an enemy in the Mario series. He first appeared in the NES classic Mario Bros 2for the NES. Each Pokey has a certain amount of segments, usually with five, with the fith being his head. They are cactus enemies who will hurt anyone who touches it. Ever since the species first appearance, they have appeared regularly in Mario platforms and even spinoffs. In Super Mario World, Mario or Luigi were able to destroy them by using a star man to ram into him, or letting Yoshi eat each of his segments one by one. The species is also an obsticle in the Mario Kart series, usualy in the desert levels. The following is a list of Mario Kart games where Pokey has appeared. In the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy, Mario will be able to kill him by tossing some fruit at him. Once you do all his segments will fall apart.

Bandit

A Bandit is an enemy in the Mario series known for robbing coins and items. His first appearance was in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, where he would usually take coins or Baby Mario. If the second player plays the mini game in Super Mario World 2, then he will play as Bandit. His next appearance or game was Paper Mario, followed by Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which introduced Big Bandit, Badge Bandit, and Bandy Andy. It is believed that Bandits are a subspecies of Shy Guy. Their masks and robes have led people to this conclusion. A Bandit is an enemy in the Mario series known for robbing coins and items. Beetles

Beetles are hard shelled enemies impervious to fireballs. They walk slowly though they can climb up walls and on ceilings. If Mario runs beneath them they well drop down and roll towards him in a Koopa Shell style fasion.
Fuzzies

Fuzzies are spiky, black creatures featured in recent Paper Mario games. They are depicted as small, black, fuzzy creatures that hop about in no particular direction. Their faces are usually two rolling eyes and an open mouth. Varities include the Flower or Pink Fuzzy, which in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Doorwere able to steal Flower Power. Other varities, mentioned only in the game mentioned, were Gold and Green Fuzzies, the latter of which is able to multiply.
Nipper

lNipper is a plant that appears in multiple Mario and Yoshi video games who first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. They love to bite anything that seems to get near them.
Monty Mole

lA Monty Mole is an enemy in the Mario series. His first appearance is Super Mario World for the SNES. In this game, he popped out of the ground and started to chase after you. He has also appeared as a playable unlockable character in Mario Superstar Baseball. He has also appeared as an enemy in Paper Mario. In Super Mario Sunshine, they controlled a cannon that shoots Bullet Bills at you and throws Time-ombs. In New Super Mario Bros., he appeared as the boss of world 6, he drove a huge tank that launched Bullet Bills. You could kill him by jumping on his head when he popped out. lIn the Mario Kart Series monty moles would pop out of holes in some of the courses such as Moo Moo Farm and Peach's Courtyard. You could easily avoid them, but if you get hit, you'll spin out. lHe also appeared as a cameo in Super Mario All-Stars as the king of Pipe Maze's transformation.
Rex

lRex is an enemy in the Super Mario Series whom first appeared in the game Super Mario World. In the game, it would take two stomps untill they would be deafeted. Once you stomped on them once, they would become smaller, though they would start to run faster. He later appeared in the game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Sagawhere he would appear on HooHoo Mountain, just like in Super Mario World, he would become flattened/smaller once you jumped on them. The enemy later appeared in Super Princess Peach where you would, once again, kill them by jumping on them twice. lA different type of Rex appeared in the game Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time titled Shroob Rex.
Amps

lAmps are enemies in the Mario series. They are black spheres that shoot out electricity that first appeared in the game Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. They would usually spin around in a circle, and if you touched one, you'd get shocked. They are impossible to defeat, and you can only avoid them. It next appeared in the Mario Party Series, followed by Super Mario 64 DS, and New Super Mario Bros.
lIn the Mario Party series, they were renamed Zap.

Chargin' Chucks

Chargin' Chuck is an exclusive Super Mario World enemy who appears in many levels from Yoshi's Island 2 to Bowser's Castle. Whether it's lost underwater or defending Bowser, these enemies can be located in every corner of this game. Chuck is a Koopa dressed as a football player who can perform multiple attacks in its various incarnations. In standard form a Chargin' Chuck simply runs after Mario to tackle him. Sometimes he tries to sneak up on Mario by quietly jogging towards Mario, the game turns off his trademark charging sound.
All Chargin' Chucks require three hits from Mario or one cape swipe to be defeated. Multiple fireball hits also work at short range. The first hit from any attack but fire usually makes them lose their special ability if they have one, or stuns them. A second hit will do the same before the third hit knocks them off the course. A Chuck can also vault many medium and small sized obstacles in his pursuit of Mario, only being stopped by the highest obstacles. However Chargin' Chucks will run over cliffs in their pursuit. He can also run his way through yellow and purple blocks in his never-ending quest to smash Mario.
Dino-Rihno

These are dinosaurs that resemble rhinoceros. One normal jump turns them into Dino-Torches. A spin jump or Yoshi jump will completely destroy them. The Dino-Rhinos only walk around and jump slightly. They're found all throughout Chocolate Island.
Porcu-puffers

Porcu-puffers are nasty pufferfish with spines that can sting Mario. Yoshi can bounce on top of them with out getting stung. You can also travel past them on a dolphin.
Fishin' Boo

Fishin' Boo hangs out in the Choco-Ghost house, found in Chocolate Island. He dangles a bluish ghostly fire from his fishing rod, but there's no reason for Mario to take it. Steer clear and try to stay low if possible.
Blurp

Blurp is a fish that can be found in all underwater courses. It will only swim in one direction and is often found to swim in formations. Fireballs and cape spin can defeat it, Yoshi can also eat it but it's harmless to Yoshi stomping into him.
Hot Head

Hothead is a large ball of fire or electricity that circles blocks of stone in castles and fortresses. Invulnerable to all attacks, it will harm Mario if he touches it.
Sumo Brother

When a sumo brother stomps his foot, flames appear on the ground. It will stomp in a perodical frequency, moving a little bit between stomps. You can use the feather cape to escape. If you don't have one, the best bet is to jump on a block that's directly below Sumo Brother.
Super Koopas

Super koopas are koopas with the feather power, so they have a cape and fly around. Alone, they are easy to kill, but when there are lots of super koopas around, it's caotic. A Super koopa with a flashing red and yellow cape will drop a feather when killed, but a standard yellow or red caped one doesn't drop anything.
Swooper

Swooper is a little bird that nests on the ceilings of caves. When Mario comes close, Swooper flies down to a medium height and continues flying on a straight line. Invulnerable to jumps, fireballs kill it and Yoshi can eat it.
Thwimp

Thwimp is a smaller version of Thwomp. It doesn't travel in linear directions, but rather jumps periodically from one place to another. He is also invulnerable to all attacks.
Torpedo Ted

A shark-faced torpedo launched towards Mario or Luigi from a torpedo launcher.
Torpedo Ted cannot be defeated by any means. However, note that when torpedo launchers appear on the game screen, they will wait several seconds before launching torpedoes.
Torpedo Ted can only be found in soda lake.
Rip Van Fish

Rip Van Fish is an enemy found on almost all underwater courses. Like the name implies, it is a fish, normally sleeping on a corner, once Mario comes close, it wakes up and starts chasing him frantically. Once Mario is far away, it falls asleep again. Fireballs are a good defense and Yoshi can eat it.
